Well, it has finally arrived! The kids went back to school today and I am so relieved excited for them to be going back! And the morning went rather well considering how tough it was to get them to go to bed last night!
The alarm went off at about 10 minutes to 7:00 am. 2nd grader was found like this…

He is like me…I hate the “getting out of bed” part! My bed is always the most comfortable right before I need to get up. Strange, but true.
5th grader was found like this…

Didn’t catch him still sleeping! He is always the most prepared!
Hubby was so great this morning. I had planned on making them a nice hot breakfast for their first day back to school, but alas, I am having stomach issues and am back on a liquid diet. My husband, being the wonderful person that he is, knew it would be hard for me to cook and then not be able to eat, so he was the chef this morning. He made…
Scrambled Eggs…

Sausage…

And toast and OJ…

Even the dog got some sausage…

And what culinary delight did I get to enjoy this morning??

Yep, that is right…Just my tea. But, the hubby did make it for me, so I can’t complain.
After breakfast was over, hubby did the dishes too!!

Now, time for the obligatory “First Day of School” photos…

We always have taken a picture of them from behind with their backpacks on. I am not sure why, but you can’t break tradition, right?

This is what a cool 5th grader looks like…

Yeah! We actually got one with the dog looking at the camera! He is actually afraid of the camera and all the flashing from all the photos this morning was freaking him out. I think at this point he thought he was going to get to go “bye-bye” so he was happy!

Oh no…sleepy 2nd grader is not ready to go! I feel your pain! It is hard to get up early when we have been sleeping in for the past 13 weeks of summer break!

Walking into the school. As you can see, neither one of the kids are walking with us. 5th grader is well ahead of us!! You can see him with the black and gray backpack…

Dropped off the 2nd grader in his “spot” in the hallway until the bell rings. I think he is ready for us to leave…:)

I didn’t get any more of the 5th grader…His friends tried to say hi to him as we walked him to his hallway, but he was being shy. Also, I think he is getting to the age where he is becoming embarrassed by the parents? I don’t know…but I am not ready for that! Hope you two have a great day today and I will see you @ 3:05!!
