Today was the second day of school. When the kids came home, we were going through their stuff and I had the following conversation with my 2nd grader…
Me: Okay…go put these papers away in your room and we will work on your homework.
2nd grader: But, you haven’t gotten rid of all my stuff from 1st grade yet (we have a plastic tub that all school work goes in and I sort through from time to time to decide what to keep)
Me: That is okay honey…just put them on top. I know which ones are from first grade…
2nd grader But…I can’t put 2nd grade stuff with 1st grade stuff!!!
